新华08网北京1月26日电(经济参考报记者)Microsoft Corp has unveiled a new generation of Windows， with a wide range of experiences designed to usher in a new era of more personal computing， as well as two new devices designed to extend the Windows experience from large screens to no screens.

Microsoft Corp. is still offering a freedownload of its Windows 10 technical preview， which now includes a redesigned Xbox app and Cortana integration. Windows 10 will be offered as a free download to Windows 7， 8 and 8.1 users for the first year after its release.

One of the major features introduced in the January build (number 9926) of Windows 10 Technical Preview， which is now available for Windows Insiders， is Cortana， Microsoft'spersonal digital assistant. Both Slow and Fast Ring users can now take advantage of new features from Build 9926 as Microsoft has published the buildfor the two and on ISOs.

The offer， which is limited to the Windows 10's first year of release， may aid its adoption. It marks a change in strategy from Microsoft's previous policy of charging for major updates， and could help avoid a repeat of the relatively slow uptake of Windows 8.
